Kenilworth Lacrosse offers year round programming with an emphasis on the competitive spring season. In the spring, Kenilworth Lacrosse participates in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association ( IBLA), each team plays an 8-game schedule and competes in 2 or 3 local tournaments.
Kenilworth’s program traditionally fields 2 teams at the U14 level, two teams at the U12 level and one team at the U10 level. Rosters are capped at 20 players for the U14 and U12 teams. The U10 team rosters 22 kids. The season starts in early April and runs through the first weekend in June when the teams wrap up the season with a one day championship series. Throughout the season, each team practices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on Townley Field in Kenilworth.
The 2028’s (8th grade) were crowned champions of the Border Wars tourney, The Prairie State Games tourney and they won the IBLA Championship. The 2030’s (6th grade) won The Prairie State Games and the IBLA Championship.
Our focus is to provide a fun, safe, growth oriented, esteem building environment to foster the emotional and physical growth of our participants as well as the sport of lacrosse itself.
I founded Kenilworth Lacrosse program 18 years ago and hold the position as director and 8th grade coach. I’m proud to witness many of these young men play in high school and beyond. In 2022, 24 out of 38 players on New Trier varsity roster are Kenilworth Lacrosse products along with 16 out of 28 on J.V roster. Over 30 individuals have competed at the N.C.A.A. Level with 13 currently suiting up in college. I won’t take any credit for their success besides introducing them to the sport. These players dedicated themselves to their craft and improved their skill set to become college athletes.
